"The Power of Friendship" is what Karadeniz came to achieve in Lebanon. Looking back at this objective, the global energy giant which builds, owns and operates a fleet of barge-mounted plants, has two of its Powerships- Karadeniz Powership Fatmagül Sultan and Karadeniz Powership Orhan Bey- docked near inland power plants of Lebanon, where they are contributing to the reform plan targeting the electricity sector in Lebanon, by providing a steady power supply to the Lebanese network with a total contracted capacity of 270 MW.
Celebrating this success after one full year of operations in the country, Karadeniz held a high profile luncheon for VIP representatives from across the media spectrum in Lebanon. The event held on (Friday April 4th) was organized aboard the Karadeniz Powership Fatmagül Sultan docked near the Zouk Plant. The gathering was attended besides media by officials from KARPOWERSHIP worldwide and Lebanon including Mr. Orhan Karadeniz, CEO of the company and Mr. Ralph Faisal, representative of KARPOWERSHIP in Lebanon. Afterwards, the company officials accompanied media persons on a tour aboard the ship to show them around the different equipment used on the ship and the various stages of power production.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Karadeniz pointed it out that what Karadeniz came to do in Lebanon, has been achieved in record time in the most efficient approaches. He commented: "Throughout the last 12 months we have worked in Lebanon, we have acted upon the most professional standards and most importantly showed utmost goodwill in creating solutions with our partners as we ultimately strive to set a role model for international investment in Lebanon and strengthen the friendship amongst our nations."
On the same occasion, Mr. Faisal noted that the Karadeniz Powerships proved to be an efficient solution to assist Lebanon's plan to revamp its production facilities. He stated: "Since last year, the company's Powerships have provided a reliable supply and most efficient that came to the growing need of the Lebanese network. We are proud that our operations in Lebanon were mostly smooth and the level of cooperation with the ministry of Energy and EDL is very high."
Fatmagül Sultan supplies around 200 MW to the Zouk Plant while Karadeniz Powership Orhan Bey provides around 100 MW to the Jiyeh Plant.
