The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants is launching an initiative to encourage Lebanese expats and people of Lebanese origins to stay connected, by sharing their success stories and promoting Lebanon through two social media contests. Winners will benefit from a free round trip ticket from their country of residence to Lebanon.

 

 

Mission

Our mission is to showcase the successes of Lebanese expats and to encourage them to stay connected and to promote a positive image of Lebanon all over the world.

 

 

Competition Brief

No matter how far or for how long we have traveled, Lebanon is always on our minds and in our hearts. 
With unfortunately little support from our country and with endless struggles and hardships, Lebanese expats managed to have success stories and leave a mark worldwide, excelling in almost any field and holding the Lebanese flag up high. 
We are proud of our origin and we spread our cultural and moral values abroad. 
We never gave up on the small land we call home. Always lending a hand to our community and promoting our beautiful country. 
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants invites all Lebanese expats to take part in its "Lebanon Connect" initiative. 
How can you connect? You may participate in one of the following two contests.

 

 

1- Success Story Contest:

- Take a photo of yourself.
- Write about your experience abroad and your achievements. Your story should inspire other Lebanese expats to work harder in order to reach their goals.
- Share it on Instagram using #LebanonConnect

 

 

2- Photo Contest:

- Take a photo of yourself holding the Lebanese flag abroad.
Your photo can be taken in any country outside Lebanon, and can be related to any Lebanese-only topic, from products to food, or uniforms, etc.
- Tweet it or Instagram it using:
From (Your Location) #LebanonConnect
(e.g. From Paris #LebanonConnect)

The contests start on May 8, 2014 and end on May 29, 2014 at 12:00 am.

Photo Contest: 1 lucky winner
Success Story Contest: 4 lucky winners
Winners will each be granted one free round trip ticket from their country of residence to Lebanon.

 

 

Competition Rules

Participants should be Lebanese expats or of Lebanese origins residing outside Lebanon. They should provide documents to prove it.

 

 

Winning Criteria

The photo that receives the most likes on Instagram or retweets on twitter by the deadline, which is 12:00 am of May 29, 2014, will qualify its owner for a free round trip ticket from his/her country of residence to Lebanon.
A committee will choose 4 winners from the Success Story contest. The criterion of selection depends on the inspirational and motivational aspect of the story. 
Winners of both contests will be announced on May 31, 2014. during the "Lebanese Diaspora Energy" conference, which will take place from May 30 to June 1, 2014
