What a colorful celebration! The India Night at Le Royal was a smashing success, thanks to the gourmet Indian food on offer, fabulous Indian entertainment and a variety of Indian paraphernalia on display.
Under the patronage of the Indian Embassy in Beirut and in the presence of the Ambassador Mrs. Anita Nayar, Le Royal organized India Night last Saturday, attracting a prestigious list of guests from Lebanon, India and the foreign community in the country. Like all international theme nights at Le Royal, the event was fully booked and boasted some of the best traditions of this exotic and culturally rich Asian nation.
On the culinary front, aromatic rice, succulent starters, spicy curries and flavorsome meats were served in style, against a backdrop of seductively soft music from the east. In an atmosphere dotted with candles, flowers, silk scarves and fine ladies dressed in their best saris, guests were exposed to elements of Aarti, a fascinating Hindu ritual of worship, as well as some impressive Bollywood-type dancing.
The event, which was held at the hotel's sophisticated Titanic Piano Bar, also featured an interesting exhibition of Indian handicrafts that impressed invitees, adding yet another peek at India's outstanding culture and traditions.
In the meantime, a raffle draw ensured that valuable prizes were distributed to lucky guests that night, while all invitees were given some fine Indian tea to take home. The event was so successful that both the Indian Embassy and Le Royal decided to organize yet another India Night on September 5 at Le Jardin du Royal, the luxury hotel's popular international restaurant. Thank you, India, for opening our eyes to your incredible beauty!
