With over 50 million records sold worldwide, Najwa Karam, Shams el-Ghinnieh, enlightened the stage with her stunning performance at Dbayeh Summer Festival 2014. Fans bowed to her and danced to her music as she was accompanied by her professional musicians and percussionists who had the chance to perform solo each at a time. With a standing ovation she walked unto the stage, and everyone kept cheering until the last breath.
Beiruting.com had the chance to interview her after the show and managed to get a glimpse of her future plans. With humility and friendliness, she communicated with us back stage:
Q: Beiruting: What do you think about today's festival?
A: Najwa: Amazing of course, it's my first festival in Beirut this year. I was a bit afraid and reluctant, but always optimistic. I made a bet that the audience will love me, and it was successful because I know how strong their love is and how far I can trust them.
Q: Beiruting: Everyone is waiting for your next album after 2 years and a half of absence, when can we expect it?
A: Najwa: Let us wait for a single first, it won't take long, and afterwards we will release the album.
Q: Beiruting: Where can we find you next; any planned concerts in Lebanon and beyond?
I will be everywhere in Lebanon. North and South, Shouf and Beirut. A tour over Lebanon Hopefully!
Q: Beiruting: We can't end it without asking about your beauty! Who took care of it today?
A: Zuhair Mrad is the designer of the dress, Make up Wassim Mghabghab, and hair Tony Sawaya
