The Lebanon Water Festival is kicking off its two month long festival with an International Jet Ski Race at Hayali Bay in Jounieh. On August 10th, the public and media alike are invited to experience the competitive side of Jet skiing.
Two years ago, we introduced the Jet Ski Race to the Lebanon Water Festival. This year it's back with a larger course and new location that is ideal for an international race.
Jet skis are accessible to everyone by way of rent, making them popular among recreational sport enthusiasts. While many jet skiers are satisfied with riding on the open sea, there are those jet skiers who turn the vehicle from a way of transportation into a competitive sport that demands skill and a sharp eye.
Here the thrill is not about the speed, but about precision, control and safety. To test these skills, seasoned jet skiers will maneuver around seven buoys and back again; totaling 3km. Best time will determine the winner.
The race was limited to 20 qualified and skilled competitors. The first and second races are individual races. The best time between the two races will be taken. The third race will be a dual race.
After the two races, there will be two performing acts. There will be one act coming from the water and a second surprise coming from the open air. The air maneuvers and colorful display will be a first for the Lebanon Water Festival. You have to be there to see the big reveal!
Five judges will oversee the race: Mr. Simon Khoury, Mr. Camille Charmoun, Mr. Hadi Nakhoul, Mr. Gaby Kreiker and Mr. Eddy Nehmeh.
The International Jet Ski race wouldn't be complete without the support of the Lebanese Motor Boat Federation. Since safety is at the forefront of each and every event, we are adhering to the international rules and regulations of the Union Internationale Motonautique. We would also like to thank Hayali Bay for allowing us to use their space for our race.
If you're on the beach, on a boat, or find yourself longing for some sun exposure and sea therapy, come stop by for an entertaining and thrilling show. It is open to the public and will be entertaining for all ages!
