Rotana Hotels established this year, within its framework of corporate social responsibility and humanitarian activities and as a sequel to last year's activities, unique initiatives to serve and implement a wide range of charitable deeds and ecofriendly practices to help the Lebanese society and its environment.
On July 9, during Ramadan, Gefinor Rotana's social committee team visited the 'Lebanese Union for the Protection of Children in Lebanon' and spent a joyful evening with 28 children while feasting together on a delectable iftar dinner. The team also distributed gifts in appreciation and commemoration of this wonderful day.
As for Raouché Arjaan by Rotana, during July and August, each department adopted a child with special social and physical needs from 'L'école des Soeurs de la Charité de Besançon,' accounting for a total of 11 children adopted by the 11 departments at the hotel. Consequently, from now till the end of the year, Rotana will relish in contributing to those youngsters' daily lives and continuously offering them with new and memorable experiences.
Tamar Rotana, however, adopted an environmental approach where a unique initiative was instigated in which employees are to carpool with fellow co-workers according to shifts and residential areas. The initiative was promoted throughout the ride where the carpoolers carried signs to motivate people to do the same and consume less fuel in order to preserve and maintain a cleaner environment. Tamar Rotana's objective is to deliver a message that we, as a community, should insistently seek to preserve the environment and not just on Earth Day.
Commenting on these initiatives, Joseph Coubat, Area Vice President of Amman, Lebanon, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar and General Manager of City Centre Rotana, said that, "These activities highlight Rotana's adherence to its values and its goals through not only social responsibility, but also through our commitment to establish long-term bonds and our permanent pursuit to find creative and innovative ways to help our society."
