    Eventions Launches the 5th Edition of Vinifest

    Beirut, 21 September 2012- Eventions held a press conference at Hotel Phoenicia Beirut-Ein El Mreisseh to launch Vinifest under the theme "Food and Wine Pairing", which will be held at the Hippodrome of Beirut from 3 till 6 October. The 5th edition of Vinifest will be in partnership with SGBL, the collaboration of the Union of Viticulture in Lebanon and the Lebanese wine producers. Present at the conference were Mrs. Neda Farah, General Manager of Eventions, Mr. Serge Hochar, President of UVL, Mrs. Milagros Hernando, Ambassador to Spain and Mr. Neemat Frem, President of the Lebanese Industrialists and Mr. Gerard Garzuel, SGBL's COO.

     

    For the 5th consecutive year, Eventions is launching Vinifest, the wine festival that has now become a traditional trademark bringing together thousands of wine lovers from across Lebanon to celebrate the largest and most exciting wine festival in the Middle East. Vinifest is now known to offer the best forum in Lebanon for showcasing and consuming wine and food.

     

    Commenting on the event, Ms. Neda Farah, organizer of the event, said: "the industry of wine making embraces agriculture, tourism and the art of table and it contributes greatly in stimulating the economy. Today Lebanon is a dynamic market of wine making and until now the promotion of wine is being progressed on a personal level. Therefore, Vinifest is an occasion to create awareness within the private sector and the concerned ministries around the different fields of wine making".

     

    On another note, Mr. Serge Hochar stated: "The Lebanese wine production reflects the expression of our land, history and success. The great value of wine resides in its quality and rarity. This is a great asset which renders the future of the Lebanese wine brilliant, because the world is becoming our market".

     

    Mr. Gerard Garzuel, SGBL's COO, stated in his speech: "SGBL has always been standing by Lebanese industry and through Vinifest, we aim to support Lebanese wine producers who display their harvest and to put forward Lebanon's cultural heritage".

     

    Mr. Neemat Frem stated: because we are a unique nation, our industry is the real translation of this uniqueness. What we produce is more than a product; it is the projection the Lebanese creation and ambition and this combination produced a unique taste, filled with elegance and vibrancy.

     

    Ambassador to Spain, Mrs. Milagros Hernando commented on the participation of Spain: "we are looking forward to support such events to increase awareness on the Lebanese wine in the European countries".

     

    The festival will host this year a rich musical and cultural animations featuring 4 themed nights: Spanish night, Bacchus night, Batrouniyat night and closure. Also there will be numerous activities where as Vinifest will be inaugurating a wine school "Vinecole" where wine lovers will learn valuable wine tasting techniques. Vinecole will be lead by the ASE (Association des Sommeliers d'Europe) which is represented by its Vice President, Mrs. Brigitte Le Loup. There will also be 5 known chefs who will be teaching visitors food and wine pairing through live cooking shows.

     

    Nikon will also be organizing a photo contest for professional and amateurs of photography and valuable prizes will be given to the chosen winners during the festival.
