Beirut, September 2014: As part of its Fitness Lebanon (#FITLEB) initiative launched earlier this year, AL-MAWARID Bank S.A.L has announced its sponsorship of the "Hannibal Race", a first of its kind obstacle race in Lebanon, which took place on September 7th 2014 in Lebanon's peaks in Zaarour.
Inspired by the renowned "Spartans Race" that takes place in different countries around the world, the Hannibal Race is a tough race tailored to test each participant's limits in terms of endurance, strength, speed and the ability to adapt to and conquer all types of obstacles. The race is muddy, creative and extreme, and made sure to exhaust and exhilarate every participant.
On this occasion, Mrs. Diala Kassem, Chief Retail Officer at AL-MAWARID Bank S.A.L. said: "Fitness Lebanon aims at encouraging people to get active and lead a healthy lifestyle, and the Hannibal Race certainly did just that, testing every contender's physical, mental, and emotional fitness." "We launched the Fitness Lebanon initiative because we believe sports to be a way of life, and in the inherent power it has in uniting people. The Hannibal Race offered a great sense of accomplishment to every contender that reached the finish line, and it is for this reason we were more than willing to support the Race", she concluded.
In preparation for the Hannibal Race, AL-MAWARID Bank, and through its FITLEB initiative, hosted the "Hannibal Camp" on Manara Corniche, one week prior to the race. Participants were invited to take part in this warrior training session that left them feeling motivated and fully prepared for race day. Media and bloggers were also invited to join this exclusive training with the Hannibal Race instructor Amine Dib.
Through such events and its #FITLEB initiative, AL-MAWARID Bank S.A.L. aims at providing individuals with the opportunity to lead a healthier and more dynamic lifestyle.
