An Australian film crew made an incredible discovery this week in southern Ethiopia.
They found Ataye Eligidagne, a 20-year-old woman with one of the largest "lip disks" in the world - and perhaps one of the largest facial accessories ever.
According to The Daily Mail, who originally broke the story, Eligidagne's lip disk was a shock to even some of her fellow villagers.
"We were taking a tour with some of the local guides. When they spotted the woman, they were absolutely bewildered," cinematographer Abrahem Joffe, who was leading the crew, told The Daily Mail. "I'm a big reader of Guinness World Records and I figured it was out of the ordinary, but you know you've found something special when the locals are amazed."
As it turns out, lip disc was, at 59.5 cm in circumference and 19.5 cm in diameter, a World Record.
The disks, which have been tradition in this region since 1896 or earlier, are meant to attract husbands and are used as a guage for the size of a dowry.
