Less than three weeks after Amal Clooney married Hollywood's most eligible bachelor, she was named London's most powerful woman.
The Evening Standard newspaper released its annual power ranking list, where the 36-year-old human rights lawyer ranked fourth, right after George Osborne (Chancellor of the Exchequer), Boris Johnson (Mayor of London), and Demis Hassabis (Deep Mind Technologies founder), but beating every woman on the list.
Amal Clooney was listed above notable names such as Victoria Beckham who was ninth, Malala Yousafzai who was number 12 and singer-songwriter Kate Bush who came in 16th.
According to the Evening Standard, Amal Clooney was awarded her high ranking following her efforts to help Greece win back the prized antiquities from England.
On another note, one name strikingly absent from the list is the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, who was among Time's Most Influential People In the World in 2013, but was not amid this year's most powerful Londoners.
However, her brother-in-law, Prince Harry, ranked seventh, behind Mrs. Clooney, thanks to his charity work.
