MMG, a leading Facility Management company in the Middle East Region, this month marks its 15th Anniversary.
Starting out in 1999 as a small FM company, MMG always had big ambitions. At that time in Lebanon, it was not the norm to outsource FM and most companies believed that in-house was better. MMG worked to bring the industry in line with the other more developed FM markets in Europe and America, showing that in fact outsourcing FM - whether security, fire prevention, cleaning or air conditioning etc - was far more cost effective for companies, as it allowed them simply to get on with running their business, whilst leaving the FM experts to do what they do best.
After only six months of business, MMG scored the prestigious contract for Grand Serail, the Headquarters of the Prime Minister of Lebanon, despite intense competition from much more established players. This helped to put MMG firmly on the map.
Since then, MMG has expanded into other markets, with offices now in Syria and Qatar, where it is market leader. It has scored many contracts in this time, from banks to Universities and schools to head offices. It has some 600 staff, with an additional 2,000 outsourced staff. It also now has sister companies located in Lebanon, PMG for property management and EEG for energy services, both of whom are market leaders.
MMG's CEO, Youssef Abillama, is a leading figure in the Middle East facility management industry, and is a board member of MEFMA, the association representing FM companies in the region. He is a tireless campaigner for moving the industry forward and for adopting and following global industry standards.
Speaking about the anniversary, Youssef Abillama, CEO of MMG said, "It's incredible to think that MMG has been operating for 15 years. The time has flown by. It is a very different facility management industry we see in Lebanon today, and I am very proud that MMG has played a leading role in its growth. I look forward to our further expansion in the next 15 years!"In order to mark the anniversary, MMG has also renewed its branding website.
