Within its framework of social and humanitarian activities, and in extension to its unique initiatives, charitable deeds, and ecofriendly practices, which were vastly successful in 2014, Rotana Hotels will continue on its path to implement a wide range of charitable practices and raise awareness within the Lebanese society.
As part of Gefinor Rotana's social activities and during the first week of January, guests were invited for free sessions and tips at the Bodylines Leisure & Fitness Club located at the hotel. Professional trainers were giving the guests free workout and exercise tips for a full week along with jars full of cookies, apples and juices conveying the following message: "When your legs are tiered, do it with your heart!"
Also, Gefinor Rotana and Raouché Arjaan by Rotana collaborated to design useful travel tips to distribute to the hotels' guests. A suitcase shaped card was circulated conveying the following message: "Know before you go!" and in which the www.rotanatimes.com link is printed that include beneficial and unique tips.
On December 19, Gefinor Rotana exclusively sponsored and hosted "Les Petits Chanteurs de Saint Marc" choir from the famous movie "Les Choristes" to perform live at the hotel's ballroom in support to children charities during Christmas. Media, staff and their kids attended the event, where a buffet was specifically catered for the event along with donation boxes and gingerbread. Christmas songs were playing in the background after the concert while face painting was in session. At departure, Christmas songs CDs and gifts were distributed.
On the same day, Raouché Arjaan by Rotana's team and guests abstained from smoking in support of an anti-smoking awareness cause where smokers were supposed to give up their packs on that day and replace them with candy bags that conveyed the following message: "Be social without smoking." The staff considered this activity as a good way to raise awareness and encourage people to quit smoking in an entertaining, fun and exciting way.

Gefinor Rotana's staff celebrated Earth Day along with colleagues by visiting several factories and coming back with a lot of sustainability ideas for their offices. And, during the famous lights out event that was held on March 29, 2014 at 8:30 pm, the hotel staff also contributed to energy saving by switching the lights in common areas in support of Earth Hour.
In collaboration with the non-profit organization Lebanese Food Bank, Gefinor Rotana re-introduced brunch at the Olive Garden Restaurant & Terrace as a contribution to eliminate hunger. For this reason along with its belief in human rights and working towards a better tomorrow, Gefinor Rotana also decided to donate two dollars from the brunch's bill. During the launching event, chef Chady Zeitouny, Ambassador for the Lebanese Food Bank, prepared succulent and mouthwatering dishes. Various competitions were also active on the hotels official Instagram page with valuable prizes to win and giveaways were distributed to all the attendees as an appreciation for their support.
Yoga sessions were also held at Gefinor Rotana every Monday. This activity aimed to create awareness among colleagues and guests and encourage them to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
Furthermore, the hotel participated in the annual marathon organized by the Beirut Marathon Association in support to ABAAD, the resource center for gender equality, and to fight against the early marriage of young girls. The staff carried a banner in support of the cause and to promote sustainable social and economic development.
For the International Children's day, the Gefinor Rotana Team spent the day with 20 kids from the Spring of Life (SOL) at the Planet Discovery in Beirut Souks. Lunch boxes were prepared for the kids to enjoy and during the day each kid was able to plant their own shrubs to take home and cultivate.

Raouché Arjaan by Rotana's staff celebrated Earth Day along with colleagues by visiting several locations in Beirut where juices and flyers were distributed to people to educate them on environmental challenges and the importance of sustainability. The hotel staff also contributed to energy saving during the famous lights out event by switching the lights in common areas in support of Earth Hour.
For the Children Charity day, each department at Arjaan adopted a child with special social and physical needs from 'L'école des Soeurs de la Charité de Besançon,' where Rotana will contribute to those youngsters' daily lives and continuously offer them new and memorable experiences.
Additionally, and to promote a healthier lifestyle, the Arjaan by Rotana staff invited guests and colleagues for a morning walk on the Raouché Boulevard wearing blue T-shirts with the Arjaan logo with the hopes to commit to this weekly activity and enjoy Beirut, the sea breeze, and the sun. The walk was followed by a healthy breakfast and a selection of oat cookies on the Bella Vita Café terrace.
As for International Children's Day, the Raouché Arjaan by Rotana's team held a special Children's day event for their adopted kids at the hotel ballroom. The day was spent in total bliss where the kids played all kinds of games, had fun with the animation team and partook in a face painting session.
