Waterfront City announced its support for the 6th Build it Green Forum REVEALING ECO-DISTRICTS

    13 march 2015

Waterfront City proudly announced its third consecutive year of support for the "Built it Green" (BIG) forum, organized by e-EcoSolutions company in a press conference held in Waterfront's sales offices, on March 4, 2015 in the presence of key partners and members of the press.

Both organizations have a shared vision for a sustainable and more eco-friendly future for Lebanon. BIG is now launching its 6th annual forum that will be held on Wednesday March 18, 2015 at the Monroe Hotel in Beirut, to discuss its own strategy as well as exploring and utilizing worldwide trends.

Last year we were reminded that global warming is becoming an ever more grave issue and that the creation of green initiatives and community driven eco districts is becoming imperative. This year's panel discussion of international and local experts highlighting the importance of smart, functional, eco-friendly cities for a brighter future looks to be both crucial and illuminating.

Mr. Samer Bissat, Senior Development Director for Waterfront City commented on the occasion: "It is at the core of our values at Waterfront City to ensure a sustainable city for the generations to come, we have the potential, capabilities, and the experience, and we have unique opportunity to prove that the finest level possible of sustainable urbanism can be carried out in Lebanon, and Waterfront City makes a distinctive example of the possibility to develop our cities in Lebanon."

Further commenting on the occasion, Mr. Gilbert Tegho, CEO and Founder of e-EcoSolutions stated:" We celebrate once more the sustainability of the Build It Green - Lebanon Conference for 6 consecutive years,  with this year's theme "Revealing Eco-Districts", where in a country like Lebanon seeking improved sustainability solutions and regulations despite the different economic, political, and social obstacles, Eco-districts are just the right scale to address: small enough to innovate quickly, and large enough to have a meaningful impact. "

The project is aiming to be certified as LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) which means that it integrates the principles of smart growth, new urbanism and, green buildings. Waterfront City's Business Park in Dbayeh is being designed as an eco friendly environment and actually built using sustainable methods of construction.
