ABC, the Lebanese retail pioneer and environmental awareness promoter, has launched an unprecedented green project that will see the largest private photovoltaic plant in Lebanon installed in ABC Achrafieh. The project will provide a capacity of 0.45 MW that is enough to power ABC department store, the equivalent of feeding up to 500 houses.
The installation will cover up to 4,000 m2 and will be mounted on flat roofs as well as on ABC's landmark dome above the food court and cinemas entrance.
Worth mentioning is the system's efficiency that derives from an innovative mountings design that maximizes power and long-term savings, resulting in a payback period of less than 5 years and free renewable energy up to 20 years after that for ABC.
Through this initiative, ABC aims to support eco-friendly initiatives that are top priority in its Corporate Social Responsibility program and to assert its leading role in incentivizing other corporations to adopt smart eco-solutions.
