Following the incredible success of the 4 last seasons and in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and the Municipality of Jounieh, the NGO PHELLIPOLIS launches the 5th edition of its highly anticipated annual festival:
Under the patronage of the Minister of Tourism, Michel Pharaon, and in the presence of the president of the municipal council, engineer Antoine Frem, along with the participation of prominent figures from the media, the economic and touristic sectors and the civil society, Jounieh International Festival director, Mr. Fadi Fayad gave a press conference to announce the festivities-filled program for summer 2015.
On Thursday July 2, the opening night will kick off the festivities with the festival's trademark event: the much acclaimed breathtaking fireworks show is expected to light up the skies along the bay of Jounieh under the amazed eyes of hundreds of thousands of spectators. The exalted audience gathering around the coast will get the chance to witness the touristic appeal of the city and the genuine civilized aspect of Lebanon.
As part of the night, a photo contest will be held for both professionals and amateurs encouraging them to catch the most breathtaking picture of the night.
This night will be an occasion for all boat and yacht owners to participate in the annual boat gathering in the bay of Jounieh, an event initiated and organized by the festival committee: More than 300 boat and yacht will gather from all Lebanese ports to assist to the fireworks show, in a festive atmosphere animated by international DJ Said Mrad in a live musical and light show from the heart of the bay.
On Saturday, July 4, the Lebanese Diva Magida El Roumi will evoke the welcoming heritage of Lebanon and recall its message of peace and hope as her voice resonates with warmth and sensitivity across the stage.
On Monday, July 6, the finalists of the French version of the international program The Voice, headed by the sparkling Hiba Tawaji will be on Jounieh stage for the second time for a phenomenal concert exclusively outside of France.
Wednesday, July 8 will be devoted to humor with French Moroccan comedian Jamel Debbouze who has chosen to include Lebanon in his world tour for the summer of 2015. Debbouze will be playing the latest version of his show "Tout sur Jamel" (All about Jamel).
On Thursday, July 9, the legendary International star Johnny Hallyday, will take Jounieh by storm with the beat of his world tour "Rester Vivant" (Staying Alive). Fans of true refined art will be exalted by a preferred variety of the star's new and old songs.
Last but not least, the committee announced a bouquet of free activities, games, and parades that will be organized to bring joy for all ages. These events will highlight the touristic value of the city, the pearly nature of the bay of Jounieh, and the sacred beauty of Harissa Mountain. Jounieh's residents will grab their chance to rediscover and reconnect with the added value of their region, and visitors will be able to enjoy fun times in the lively streets of the city on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 10, 11, and 12 July 2015.
The festival will come to a big end on the night of 15 July, with the international star, Jessie J, who will ignite the stage with her most famous hits and her vibrant voice. The songs the star will be performing during her international scale concert include: Price Tag, Bang Bang, and Domino.
