Under the Patronage of the Minister of Tourism, Mr. Michel Pharaon, Rest House Tyr opened its SUMMER SEASON with a SAND COMPETITION in collaboration with Ms. Rita Maalouf - SANDCASTLES IN LEBANON!
Everyone enjoyed their day by a beautiful sandy beach and watched the extravaganza of arts from the presence of Actor Nicolas Mouawad, Dancing Shows performed by Maya School of Arts Students, LIVE Painting of a SUMMERish Peace of ART by Calligrapher Ghalib Hawila & Graffiti Painter Mohamad Attieh, not to forget the amazing performances of STEPS Parade.
Sand Artists from all around Lebanon competed for the best art forms in the sand, using nothing but sand and water to sculpt the most creative ideas:
Gorilla, Nefertiti, Crocodiles, MINI Cooper, Shipwreck, Interesting Man with a SpyGlass & a lot more!
This happened in the surveillance of a professional jury: TYR Municipality Rep. Ms. Bahia Zayat, Singer/Dancer/Producer Maya Nehme & Lebanese Globe Runner Ali Wehbe.
The jury in coordination with Ms. Rita Maalouf gave their grading according to different criteria: Proportions, Idea-Originality, Technicality & Beauty.
As for Winners & Prizes, there were the following:
