In recognition of a career rich in achievements in the ICT industry:
Alfa Chairman and CEO Eng. Marwan Hayek receives "Golden Order of Merit for Leadership" award from the Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO)
Beirut- Lebanon: The Arab Administrative Development Organization(ARADO), an affiliate of the League of Arab States, and the Tatweej Academy, have awarded Alfa Chairman & CEO Engineer Marwan Hayek the "Golden Order of Merit for Leadership" and the "Tatweej" certificate in recognition of his achievements in the ICT sector in Lebanon and the region throughout his professional career which spans over 17-years.
The award was presented to Mr. Hayek to honor his work in the ICT sector mainly his contributions to streamlining the communication among millions of people by laying the foundations of telecommunications networks and the development of the telecommunications infrastructure in a large number of countries including Lebanon, Egypt, Yemen and Pakistan.
Mr. Hayek received the award during a ceremony organized recently byARADO and the "Tatweej Academy" in the Emirate of Dubai under theauspices of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid AlMaktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. The Ceremony honored a number ofpersonalities and active leaders who served the Arab world through their achievements and initiatives in their respective fields, and was attended by H.E. UAE's Minister of Education representing His Highness the Crown Prince of Dubai, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Alam representing ARADO, and Mr. Pierre Moukarzel, President of the Tatweej Academy, in addition to personalities& figures from various fields.
Hayek thanked the award's organizers for their trust, and expressed hispleasure to "receive the award in the sister country UAE and particularly in Dubai which hosts a large Lebanese community working in various fields, including the telecommunications sector". Hayek said that "this award is a tribute to 800 persons who form the Alfa team, for success is the result of teamwork which is at the heart of Alfa".
Hayek also addressed the new achievement of Alfa, managed byOrascom Telecom, in the telecommunications sector after it recently became the first mobile operator carrying out the first successful trial on the 4G-LTE technology in Lebanon, as a prelude to the actual launch of the service in 2013. "This reaffirms the leading role of Lebanon in the ICT and the role of Alfa in the telecommunications sector in Lebanon and the region", added Hayek.
Hayek concluded by thanking everyone who accompanied him in hiscareer and in particular Orascom Telecom, indicating that "this award is an incentive for us to continue to provide services that meet the aspirations of all segments of society and contribute from where we stand to driving the business development and economic growth in Lebanon".
