On the occasion of the French National Day, and in the framework of consolidating the bilateral bonds and relations between Lebanon and France, a high-level delegation headed by the President of the French Senate, Gérard Larcher, visited the Lebanese Pavilion at the International 2015 Expo Milan Exhibition, which is supervised and run by the Ministry of Economy and Trade. Larcher was accompanied by the Consul of France in Italy, Olivier Broshi, and the director of the French pavilion at the exhibition, in addition to official French figures.
Welcoming the visiting delegation, was the Consul General of Lebanon in Milano, Mr. Walid Haidar, and a number of the organizers of the Lebanese pavilion. Guests got the chance to tour around the Lebanese pavilion, which embodies the values of generosity and hospitality of the Lebanese people.
Minister of Economy and Trade, Dr. Alain Hakim, also had a direct participation during this visit, through a recorded speech displayed on the screen available at the pavilion, where he welcomed the delegation and praised the historical Lebanese - French relationships as well as France's continuous support at on the national, political and social levels. Minister Hakim concluded by thanking the delegation for their interest in knowing more about the Lebanese pavilion and its activities.
From his part, Gérard Larcher, President of the French Senate, noted down a word in the Golden record of the Pavilion, expressing his gratitude for the special gift he received from the supervisors of the Lebanese Pavilion whereby souvenirs were exchanged between Lebanese officials and members of the French delegation. The French delegation's gifts included Lebanese sweets, sculptures and paintings, reflecting the most important symbols of local Lebanese hospitality.
The Lebanese Pavilion continues its activities through the bilateral meetings and exchange of visits between pavilions and the display of leading local products which reinforce the international presence of Lebanon on an economic level.
