I Live in My Own Bubble

    10 december 2012

I Live in My Own Bubble, but you're Welcome to Visit Anytime.

I should probably start this article by stating a motivational quote, somethingalready said, something that gives your existence some deep considerationand thinking. But the hell with it. I don't feel like a drama queen today. Maybetomorrow.

Here's the deal, it seems that lately, I find myself reading books and articlesabout the secret to happiness, the secret to shine, the secret to survive, thesecret to bla and of course the secret to blee. And all I can think about is, HELL,can you imagine if those secrets do exist, how untrustworthy the one exploringthem is!
Bottom line; spare us the bullshit and the drama mama books. I can go onforever giving suggestions and tips on how you can achieve a satisfying life. Ican mess with your head for the time being and yes, you will be swayed andmoved. Three, two, one... blast off!! You will go back to your ordinary life only, dealing with your problems in the same way, looking at the world from the verysame angle and struggling in a life you will never understand.

It's never enough to tell people the Hows if you don't make them understandthe Whys! There are no freaky secrets to any of the above. If you can read thisarticle, congrats, you are a human being; and you see that thing that makes youmove, talk, think and absorb what I'm saying? See, we call that a brain.
I won't try and sound like Mother Teresa, nor _God forbid_ Chuck Norris; I'lljust try and reveal, from my humble experience on planet earth, why I considermyself a happy person. I'm still a human being, weak and vulnerable, but I'mproud to say that I've come to learn from my mistakes. Finally.

Who doesn't know anger, sadness and depression? Who hasn't given up at somepoint of his/her life? Who chose the right path from the very first beginning?Who has the ability to smile 24/7, nonstop?
Besides Deir El Salibs' residents, not one sane person will be able to relate tothe above. No one is living la vida loca. And that's okay, that's all right... partly, that's the beauty of it.

There it is, two words and you can make planet earth your own odd heaven.Inner Peace.
Mind you, what's important to understand here is that I'm not tackling the statewhere you transcend to a different world, become a hermit and aloof yourselffrom the material life. I'm discussing self realization, which I personally perceiveas the ultimate skill a mind can achieve.

    What is self realization?
As the word itself says, it's about the self, the 'me', the 'you', Freud's ego, id andsuper ego.According to Freud, the human's mind is made up of three layers:

The Id: The id is the needy part, the unconscious aspect of personality, theprimitive mind that contains all the needs, feelings and desires. It's the source oflibido.

The Ego: The ego develops from the id, but deals with reality. It can't satisfy theid all the time because most desires and needs are unrealistic. It only gives itwhat it can, in relation to reality. The ego is the rational conscience and theawareness of the world.

The Super Ego: The super ego opposes the id and guides us towards sociallyacceptable behavior. It holds the moral standards and ideals that we acquirefrom both society and parents.

Finding a balance between the three layers n is not an impossible task to do.When you realize that it's okay not to get whatever you desire, you will learn tomove on into more achievable desires. The 'You' attempts to create its ownidentity by merging and making a balance between the id, ego and super ego.Self realization is but a maturity of the ego, where it accepts its own epitome, where it develops an understanding for one's self then starts to understand theothers.

On a different level of thinking, self realization would be when you try to gobeyond yourself and see what others see, not by staring in the mirror, but bystaring with your eyes, through your eyes. It's when you realize how small youare in this gigantic world. It's when you respect others because you carry thatrespect for yourself.

It's when you look at people without judging them, and realize that they, aswell, have a story of their own. It's when you look at the small things as thebigger things. It's when you treat everyone as you wish to be treated. It's whenfirst, you forgive yourself so that you learn to forgive others. It's when you deal
with pain as a phase that will eventually pass. It's when you can accept badnews before good news, because you trained your brain to be prepared for theworst. It's when you apologize when you know you did wrong. It's when YOUrealize that YOU are YOUR own master and you respect that the other person ishis/her own master.
This won't change who you are. Achieving self realization doesn't change thecharacter you were born with, nor does it change the aim of your existence. Yes,you will cry again, you will be sad again, problems will always come and go, butyou will learn to prioritize what needs to be prioritized and neglect what isinsignificant. Achieving self realization will only make your life easier, happier, peaceful and exciting from the inside out. It will give you an inner peace, whereyou will be able to face and accept illness, broken hearts, mistreatments andabandonments. Inner peace is a state of mind, once it is achieved, nothing elsematters.
Imperfection is but perfection, only if you choose to perceive it as such.Regardless of what we've been told, what we've all been raised on and whatpeople chose to embody and follow, you are what you think. The brain has theability to accept any given idea, if it speaks to its common sense. Happiness isbut a choice. Make the right choice, choose to be happy, create your personalunique world, an intimate bubble you can call your own.
