Spreading the joy of the festive season in the hearts of AFEL Liban children
Christmas is a time for giving back, not just to family, friends and loved ones, but also to the local communities in order to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate and extend to them the warmth of the holiday season. This year, Grand Hills, A Luxury Collection Hotel & SPA decided to celebrate Christmas with the children of AFEL Liban engaging them in a series of festive activities that surely turned their Christmas into a magical one.
To kick start the festivities, Grand Hills' central kitchen was transformed into a huge Christmas cookie factory where 30 children from AFEL Liban joined Chef Yan Giacomoni and his team and 10 Lebanese foodies to craft and decorate little ginger bread angels. The children expressed themselves in all colors and forms and the result of their work turned out to be a real piece of art.
On the evening of the 11th of December, the hotel lobby hosted 50 children from AFEL Liban, media, influencers and celebrities for an enchanted Christmas celebration featuring a tree lighting ceremony, a special Peppa Pig theatre performance by Fun Plus One, a musical Christmas carols performance by the legendary tenor, Gabriel Abdel Nour, and an endless chocolate buffet designed specifically for the little ones. AFEL Liban signature cookies were displayed for sale during the event and all the proceeds went to the benefit of the organization.
