    Hilton Hotels in Beirut Announce the 2015 LightStay™ Sustainability Results

    Hilton Hotels in Beirut announced the 2015 results of LightStayTM, Hilton Worldwide's proprietary sustainability measurement system, revealing their community involvement and corporate social responsibility achievements throughout 2015, as part of Hilton's "Travel with Purpose" program. Overall, the recycling projects undertaken by Hilton Beirut Habtoor Grand and Hilton Beirut Metropolitan Palace have been a tremendous success with over $253,000 in cumulative savings.

     

     

     

    Throughout the past year, Hilton Hotels in Beirut sustainability initiatives included:  community service with 87 donations amounting to a total of $47,570 and around 78,500 hours of volunteer work; energy saving projects whereby four generators were replaced with newer, more efficient models generating an annual saving of $230,000, and water saving devices were installed into the faucets and showers in all guestrooms generating an annual saving of $23,000; recycling initiatives, with around 2,450 kilograms of paper and 460 kilograms of plastic recycled; and strategic NGO collaborations with Arc en Ciel, Lebanese Food Bank, Bassma, St Rita Church Parish, Caritas and Barouk Cedars Reserve, among others.
