Marcella Mouawad, the Lebanese renowned designer; known for her previous 2 pieces-collection LOVE in 2015, changed the definition of fashion runways. Marcella launched her Fellini inspired 2016 collection on the 10th of February at ABC Dbayeh, with an event far from classic traditional fashion shows known previously.
To pay a tribute to one of her idols, Marcella M launched a collection of 22 designs inspired by Fellini, all in black and white that could easily pass for a costume cut out for a movie star. Fellini was an Italian director and screenwriter recognized as one of the most influential of all time, known for his distinct style that blends fantasy and baroque images with earthiness.
Marcella commented saying: "I wanted people to witness a non-traditional fashion show through an entertaining red carpet black tie event, as much as I wanted them to enjoy the new collection through a full cinema experience that reflects the influence Fellini had on my designs."
The launching event wasn't a fashion show like any other, with models walking down the runway. Marcella M took fashion shows to another level that as well reflected the influence her inspiration; Fellini, had upon the new collection. The designs were showcased through a movie of the models walking down the runway, with the designs shown on mannequins on the sides of the theater to give the attendees the chance to have an up-close view of them.
