Lebanon lands in Washington, DC, when Caravan Beirut pop-upshop opens on April 8, 2016. A handpicked selection of Lebanese designers will showcase their talent and collections at the 4-day event, hosted by digital retail platform Bucolik and Mariana Wehbe Public Relations, in partnership with the American Lebanese Chamber of Commerce. Featuring fashion, accessories, jewelry, homeware and photography, Caravan Beirut is inviting guests on a curated tour of Beirut, right in Georgetown Park.
Georgetown Park will morph into a luxury marketplace when over 40 established and emerging designers present highlights from their latest collections. The event will kick off on April 8 with a night of cocktails and hors d'oeuvres by chef Kamal Mouzawak and his renowned restaurant Souk el Tayeb.
Architect Rabih Geha, the man behind some of Lebanon's most popular restaurants and nightlife destinations, has transformed the event into a magical experience, showcasing a brilliant collection of designers and photographers in one jaw-dropping space.
A portion of Caravan Beirut's proceeds will be donated to Skoun, a Lebanese non-profit organization that offers prevention and treatment to drug users. The market aims to support young people as they turn their lives around. With a hand up, they could be tomorrow's emerging designers.
