    Fast And Curious to USA

    26 april 2016
We hear about prodigies around the world. And how often do they happen to be Lebanese. Cedars Cultural School in Aley, Mount Lebanon, was proud to be embracing a wonderful and talented group of young men, entitled Fast & Curious. Made up of 8 members, they range between 15 and 17 years of old, and are accompanied by a mentor and a coach. The Group has participated in the First Lego League (AKA: FLL) for the last 3 years and 2015 was their lucky year as they won the world championship.

Now, they are participating in FTC (First Tech Challenge) and have won the Lebanese championship that was held in the American University of Beirut AUB on March 5th and broadcasted on LBCI! Therefore, they have been qualified for the World Festival in USA, St.louis from 27 till 30 April.

FTC is a robotics competition aimed towards high school students planning on becoming future engineers, it increases knowledge about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math), as well as time management and team work. Its purpose is to build a robot made up of heavy duty material known as tetrix, with a maximum size of 45.8 cm cubed (18inch). “We use 12 volt DC motors that can lift over 18 to 25 KG, and servo motors. Each season there is a different theme, this year's theme is Res-Q.” They said during a meeting with Beiruting.com at our premises.

We wish you all the good luck Guys! Have fun and may you return as winners!
