After welcoming the audience, the leading actress of Imra'a Men Ramad (Woman of Ashes) also expressed her pleasure regarding the attendance of Akyumen's CEO, Leo Burnett's Honorary Chairman, and the Murex D'Or organizers. Aldeenthen made a surprising announcement: her candidacywithdrawal for Best Arab Actress for 2015 in the 16thMurex D'Or,scheduled to take place on May 28at PLATEA,Jounieh.
The actress, nominated for her roles in Imra'a Men Ramad and WeshTani (Another Face), expressed her regret and explained the reason behind this decision: "I amconvinced it is the right decision to make in order to preserve the integrity of this 15-year-old competition. Akyumen is the platinum sponsor of this year's event, and since I amits brandambassador and face in the Middle East, I chose to drop out of the competition". The Murex D'Or organizers sympathized with the star and praised her performance and talent,as she was a clear favorite in the media,through public voting on the ceremony's official website, and on social media. Mr. Samir Saadehsupported the star's decision, stressingthatAkyumenalso believed in upholding the integrity of the competition.
