This time the founders and designers Chantal and Daisy el Jurdiand their handbag "Al Cobra" are the finalists in the most prestigious award in the handbag world "The Independent Handbag Designers' Award". The ceremony of the award night is taking place in the capital of fashion: NEW YORK, where several designers from all over the world are going to meet for a one-of-a-kind night.
"Al Cobra" bag from saQué was chosen as a finalist in the "Evine Best Overall Style and Design" Category. Its form is directly inspired from that particular animal which has a very distinctive shape. Using their background in architecture, the designers were able to successfully translate its characteristics and create a unique 3D silhouette for it. This bag is a part of the Form Collection, where the sisters work on giving each handbag a distinctive style and a design that stands out from the crowd. The Form Collection is based on unusual but well-defined forms extracted from nature which form the basis of the designers' inspiration when working on organic designs in architecture and fashion.
Al Cobra has a striking presence with unique features that enables it to distinctly stand out. And these features are the ones that helped propel it to bea finalist and be noticed by some of the most influential people in the fashion industry.
"The Independent Handbag Designers' Award" is an industry staple boasting the largest database of independent designers worldwide. The team actively scours the globe to find the next "it bag". It has been taking place every year since its start ten years ago in 2005 and out of the thousands of entry each year, only five are handpicked for each category.
The handbag is handmade with genuine calf leather that has the pattern of the snake printed on it. The accessories used are all gold plated.
