An innocent picture of the moon has sent the Internet into a bit of a spin - but can you tell why?
The photo shows the instantly-recognisable shape above some houses in a clear sky, perhaps early in the morning as the sun starts to rise.
However, all is not what it seems and the moon isn’t the moon at all - it’s a cloud.
The cloud is the perfect doppelgänger for the crescent shape of the moon, so you shouldn’t be too hard on yourself if you didn’t guess what it was straight awy.
Of course, the tell tale signs were all there as it does look like broad daylight and the moon is usually not seen until late in the date or first thing in the morning.
Confused Imgur users had to double take after it was uploaded and widely shared on the site.
One person wrote: “I thought that was the moon, and you were referring to the other cloud.
“I thought this was stupid. But it wasn’t.”
