    The Lebanese Embassy in South Africa hosts Betty Taoutel’s play Passport N 10452

    After its success in Montreal, Beirut and Athens,Betty Taoutel plays Passport N 10452 at the prestigious Theater on Nelson Mandela Square in Johannesburg. Lebanese living in South Africa eager to hear their native language gathered to attend this cultural event organized by the Embassy of Lebanon in South Africa in coordination with members of the community.

     

    A play from the author and actress Betty Taoutel dedicated to the Lebanese diaspora. With her stage partner, Hagop Der Ghoughassian they form a duo that makes spectators go from laughter to tears. Stay or go? The dilemma of many Lebanese families is touched with humor and sincerity.

     

    The charge d'affaires aiat the Embassy of Lebanon in South Africa Mr. Ara Khatchadourian praised the dedication of the Lebanese "I thank the community members who have deployed all their efforts in coordination with the Embassy to carry this project forward. We are very grateful to bring to South Africa, a country that is so far from our homeland, exceptional and undeniable talents from Lebanon. Passport N 10452 of the actress and author Betty Taoutel is a great awareness of not only the emigration of the Lebanese youth but also the commitment that the Lebanese have for their country "

     

    The day before the performance, the Lebanese Embassy had organized a reception at the Residence in honor of Betty Taoutel and her team.

    Since 2013, the year of the first performance at the Arab World Festival of Montreal, Passport N 10452 crossed bridges in four continents. Successfully in Beirut in 2014 and 2015, Athens (2014) and Johannesburg (2016). Hoping that this play reaches more Lebanese in the diaspora world.
