Following the huge success of the previous seasons, this year, the city of Jounieh is eagerly getting ready for the sixth edition of the Jounieh International Festival, organized by the non-profit association, Phellipolis. In fact, the everlasting success of this great event, highly esteemed by the Ministry of Tourism, eloquently reveals the prestigious rank of the festival and the emblematic dimension it holds in terms of culture and innovation.
This year as well, the festival's committee is bringing to the demanding public a selection of world-class artists and breathtaking shows.
Dazzling and unique displays of timed and choreographed pyrotechnics will kick-start the festival on Thursday, July 14. Every year the fireworks show acts as a magnet for hundreds of thousands of tourists and citizens that gather along the bay of Jounieh in a festive atmosphere reflecting the touristic aspect of the city and the true face of a civilized Lebanon.
Professionals, amateurs and talented photographers will be also invited to participate in the yearly photo contest and catch the most sparking and awesome moment of the opening ceremony.
It is that overwhelming time of year again when boats and yachts owners seize the chance to sail off into the splendor of the light fountains and party in the heart of the sea. More than 600 yachts and boats are expected to flock from all the seaports of Lebanon to take part in the festivities and beautifully escort the partying guests until the break of dawn.
On Saturday, July 16, the legendary Argentinian pianist, Raul Di Blasio, accompanied by the brilliant Lebanese musician, Michel Fadel, will lift up the spirits of the audience in an enchanting musical concert full of melodious creativity.
The festival will end with the international energetic star Jason Derulo, who will rock his fans during a vigorous musical concert to be held on Monday, July 18.
Being a pioneer in its field, Jounieh International Festival 2016 will once again establish Jounieh's place on the international tourism map and consequently prove that the country is stronger than all the unfortunate circumstances. It is indeed a festival that encourages Lebanese to love life and open up to other cultures. After all, the entailed message embodies the Lebanese Civilized Message and reflects positively on the economic and touristic sectors of the country.
