The famous adventurer Maxime Chaya (Lebanon), accompanied by his colleague Steve Holyoak (United Kingdom), are preparing to launch in their long waited, record breaking adventure: BRAK crossing the (Rub' Al Khali) by bike.
Maxime Chaya, known for tackling adventures, explorations and expeditions of impossible levels, already announced his new adventure,during a press conference held in Beirut: BRAK. After a postponement period due to logistical effects and delays in getting the necessary permits to cross the desert, this long awaited adventure began Today November 24 at 6:15 am from New York University Campus on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Chaya and Holyoak expect to cross The Empty Quarter, the largest sand desert in the world, arriving to Salalah, Oman on the 15th of December, 2016.
It is worth mentioning that the Empty Quarter is an arid desert stretchingover to 4 countries: the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Yemen, with an area of 650 thousand km2 and a length of 1000 km and a width of 500 km.After crossing this mighty desert and all of its dangers successfully, it will be first ever world record to be set by Maxime Chaya and Steve Holyoak: Crossing of the Rub' Al Khali (Empty Quarter) by bicycle.
