Lebanese women were given the right to vote for national elections in 1952. Today, the Lebanese woman's social and economic role is greater than ever. Here is Joyce Azzam who is yet another impressive woman challenging herself and succeeding in every goal she has made so far.
Joyce Azzam is a Lebanese woman who strives to empower fellow women. She aims them to challenge themselves and follow their dreams. She is a mountaineer and conservation architect who decided to go on the quest to complete the "Explorers Grand Slam" and become the first Lebanese woman to raise our flag on the highest summits of the world.She will climb each mountain with a different Lebanese Woman from all over the world in order to re-connect with the Lebanese community abroad and together empower every woman of our beloved Lebanon.
She has already achieved first place in a 40 km trail running team competition organized by the army, completed the grueling Tour de Suisse cycling, and finished 3 times 42km Beirut Marathon among other impressive accomplishments both national and international.
