Skoun, Lebanese Addictions Center, organized a benefit concert featuring the Grammy nominated musical duo from Mali,Amadou & Mariam on Sunday, the 21st of May, at MusicHall Waterfront.
The aficionados of African music enjoyed the "Afro-blues" sensation Amadou & Mariam in a mesmerizing outdoor setting.The proceeds of the concert were dedicated to support Skoun's addiction treatment and prevention programs.
On the occasion, Ms. Tatyana Sleiman, Development and Fundraising Coordinator at Skoun commented: "Skounhelps over 500 people with addiction related problems every year.We also reach out to over 17,000 young people across the country through our evidence based prevention and awareness programs that target young people of all ages in school, university, nightlife or community settings.."
She continued: "As a non profit, Skoun relies on different sources of funding including events such as This concert which serves as an opportunity to encourage people to support our activities while enjoying the musical event. Their contribution allows us to provide continuous assistance to the hundreds of Lebanese families"
