The newly established elderly home Beit Rafqa, opened its doors to the first batch of elderly, who were warmly welcomed at their new home by the organisation's devoted team along with media representatives, who attended a sneak peek visit to Beit Rafqa premises, on Saturday, June 10th and discovered its services and facilities. Surrounded by the gorgeous scenery of the Lebanese mountains, media representatives spent the day with Beit Rafqa elderly, entertained by their unique stories, shared over lunch in a special heart-warming atmosphere and sentimental music beats.
On this occasion, Mr. Elie Abou Yaghi, the General Manager of Beit Rafqa organisation took the opportunity to receive the media with a warm welcoming note saying: "We thank you for having accepted our invitation to join us on this day and welcome the first batch of our family members in their new home.By founding Beit Rafqa, we aim to have in our country the address where every elderly is honoured with the attention and care they deserve after several years of serving their loved ones and surrounding them with care and attention. Along the lines of developed countries, our elderly in Lebanon should be able to live the aging phase of their lives in the dignified way they deserve."
As a personal initiative of Mr. Selim El Zyr supported by the generosity of a group of good-hearted individuals,Beit Rafqa was built alongside St. Rafqa's Shrine and donated to the sisters of St. Joseph Monastery in Jrebta, who accompany the elderly in their daily lives, providing them with all the physical and spiritual support they need, in addition to the services of a professional and experienced nursing and administrative staff. Beit Rafqa aims to give the elderly more than what they can get at home, because they deserve the best.
Beit Rafqa was carefully designed to provide the elderly with round-the-clock care and attention they require including 24/7 access to professional nurses and nutritious meals prepared internally by a specialized team. Surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens, Beit Rafqa features 44 furnished single and double occupancy rooms, with comfortable beds, central heating and air conditioning, in-house laundry and cleaning services, in addition to eight communal living spaces to engage the elderly in social and entertaining activities. For a better medical care, Beit Rafqa includes special treatment rooms, a check-up room and a physiotherapy facility. Surrounded by mountains, offering its residents fresh air and a mild climate all year around, Beit Rafqa encourages the elderly to stay active through various sports activities.
