In a first of its kind initiative to support local and regional dance talents and with the support of the Lebanese DanceSport Federation (LDSF), a national dance competition called "For the Love of Danceware" was launched on social media targeting all dance enthusiasts.
To enter the competition, contestants have to upload a video of them performing any dance type (up to 3 minutes long) on a specific page dedicated to the competition and use the hashtag #4TheLoveOfDanceware. A jury panel of renowned dance professionals will then select the best candidates to perform live during Danceware's event on August 30, an event featuring a group of well-known local and regional dancers, where one winner will be selected to benefit from a free summer camp at a prominent dance school in London.
The main objective of this initiative is to give local talents a chance to learn, develop and embark on a dance journey, while spreading the rich culture of Lebanese dance to the world and importing new skills from the region and the world.
