A specialized forum was organized today by the President of Lions Economic Forum Committee, Mr. Mohamed Halwani in collaboration with Beirut Central District Hermes Lions Club. Key notes addressed the current situation in Lebanon in light of the ongoing financial crisis sweeping across major economies whilst also tackling the political tension's influence on the socio economic conditions of the Arab region.
Investment opportunities available for young entrepreneurs in Lebanon were also assessed. The debate highlights business potential in vital sectors such as banking, retail, insurance and real estate. Mr. Wayne Maden, the International President of the Lions Club opened the forum with a welcoming note. The line-up of speakers also included Mr. Nabil Itani, Chairman of IDAL along Mr. Nabil Fahed representing Mr. Mohammed Choukair the President of the Beirut Chamber of Commerce, Professor Philip Salem, Mr. Mounir Doueidy, General Manager of Solidere, as well as Mr. Nassib Gobril, the head of the Economy Department at Byblos Bank. The sequence was sealed with a closing note given by Mr. Nabil Rousse, Lions Governor.
In his word, Mr. Maden stressed that the economic forum addresses the needs of the emerging initiative leaders and potential investors besides Lions Clubs members to know more about the economic situation and identify with them the available possibilities in Lebanon's business scene.
He stated: "Through our ESA forum we try to inspire them and let those business persons know about what is in hand for them."
The forum was followed by a dinner honoring the sponsors and speakers at La Posta restaurant in Achrafieh.
