A royal decree has been issued on Tuesday in KSA, allowing women in the country to finally drive! This step has actually ended a longstanding rule that has become the global symbol for women's oppression in the Saudi Arabia. The implementation of the decree will take place in June 2018.
The Saudi Arabia's ambassador, Prince Khaled bin Salman said: "This is a historic big day in our kingdom". He described the step as "Part of 2030 vision, which is a huge step towards a brighter future." Bin Salman also stated that women don't have to take permission from their male guards to take their driving license.
Additionally, he believes that women participation in the workforce should be amended, "In order to change women's participation in the workforce we need them to be able to drive to work, we need them to move forward, we need them to improve our economy."
