Societe Generale de Banque au Liban (SGBL) announced, on Tuesday, that Marcel Ghanem was nominated the bank's ambassador. This announcement falls within the framework of the bank's 60th anniversary which will be celebrated throughout the year through numerous initiatives. Backed by its 60 years of experience and armed with the confidence of its clients and partners, SGBL strongly confirms its mission which is clearly illustrated through the bank's signature: "We stand by you".
During the press conference which was held at Phoenicia Hotel in presence of various media, Georges Saghbini, Deputy General Manager of SGBL, reconfirmed SGBL's commitment as: "a universal bank, a proximity bank that has been dedicated, for over 60 years, to its values of professionalism, team spirit and innovation, acting and evolving with the ultimate goal of satisfying its clients." Mr. Saghbini then announced that media figure and icon of political talk shows, Marcel Ghanem, will be the ambassador of SGBL for the next two years. He declared that Ghanem, besides being a renowned media figure, is an advocate of democracy and freedom of speech, a man who has continuously stood by the Lebanese people through his convictions, and has always fought for the development of civil society."
He added: "These shared values drove us to partner with Ghanem who will accompany us for the upcoming two years. We will work together to invest in economic and social development, confirming our mutual mission to be at the service of the community."
Marcel Ghanem, in his turn commented on the occasion, stating: "We share a common vision that translates into both my personal and professional life. I am honored to be the voice of the people and to be working with SGBL to stand by the Lebanese and support them, in line with SGBL's continuous efforts. SGBL is undoubtedly an institution that has, for the last 60 years, put its expertise and know-how to the service of the Lebanese banking sector. I will accompany the bank on a professional, emotional and intellectual level and give my support through my words and voice throughout several cultural and social initiatives. I am sure, that, together, we will achieve many goals we will be listening to the community in order to accomplish a significant step forward."
Mr. Saghbini concluded, thanking all the media for their continuous presence at SGBL's side throughout the years, adding that he is confident that this mutual collaboration will further develop over the next 60 years.
