As part of one of the most famous families in the world, Prince George and Princess Charlotte spend a lot of time in the public eye. And, even though the four-year-old heir to the throne and his two-year-old sister are barely old enough to understand their status in the world, they still find their lives under scrutiny.
Of course, they've never known any differently, but it must be strange to always have your life under a microscope from such a young age. And it doesn't help that their parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are pretty much expected to bring the little ones along with them to events, where they inevitably end up getting asked a lot of questions about the children's habits.
Recently, for example, they were asked about what sort of toys the prince and princess enjoy playing with - and William and Kate gave quite a surprising answer.

While many other children around the world are frequently handed mommy's iPhone to play Angry Bird or daddy's tablet computer to watch YouTube videos, the young royals are apparently not permitted to do so.
According to a source who lives with the family, George and Charlotte are discouraged from playing with any electrical items, and instead have fun through more "traditional" means. The Duke and Duchess have bought them the sorts of toys that they, themselves, used to play with in their youth, and do their best to spend time with the children outdoors.
"I've got such fond memories of being in the garden and being outside from my own childhood, and I'm sharing that with my own children, George and Charlotte, at the moment," said Kate Middleton.
This is especially important to the family, as it allows them some bonding time away from the hustle and bustle of life as a royal.
The Duchess - who is currently pregnant with the couple's third child - made the statement while visiting a primary school in order to look at the gardens there. When leaving, she said to the children:
"It's been lovely to meet all of you and thank you so much to all the children who've shown me what they've been doing in their gardens. It's really inspiring and exciting to see what you've all been up to. I'm really excited about what you're doing here and taking inspiration from that in the school environment as well."

Of course, more recently, all of the attention has been on George and Charlotte's uncle, Prince Harry.
The younger son of Prince Charles and Princess Diana got engaged recently to the American actress Meghan Markle, and the couple celebrated their first Christmas together with the Royal family this week. When asked about how his bride-to-be felt about the experience, Harry said, "It was fantastic, she really enjoyed it." He also said that “It’s the family that, I suppose, she’s never had," which he later came under fire for from Markle's family.
Well, we know how the family spent their holidays - and presumably what wasn't under their Christmas tree. Considering our obsession with technology these days, it seems sensible to have some boundaries for young kids, especially if they don't get much time with their parents.
