After being in Beirut since 2004, Mr. Andre Cointreau, President of Le Cordon Bleu proudly announces the grand opening of BURJ ON BAY Hotel & Le Cordon Bleu Lebanon. The event is held under the patronage the French Embassy in Lebanon & His Excellency Ambassador Bruno Foucher, represented by Mrs. Marie Maamari "Business France - Liban".
The event was attended by a large crowd of politicians, journalists, Public Figures, Corporate, Travel Agencies, media and society, namely Mr. Nouhad Dammous, a pioneer of hotel education in Lebanon and the Arab world, as well as Professor Elie Assaf, Dean of Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK). Also present were Mr. Nabil Nacouzi "Mayor of Tabarja, Kfaryasine", Mr. Aziz Estephan "Representing the Executive Chairman of Lebanese Forces Dr. Samir Geagaa", Mrs. Elissar Naddaf "Representing the Minister of Information Minister Melhem Riachi" and Mr. Joseph Daccache, Mayor of Okaibe.
During the Event, guests participated in a tour of the house including Rooms, Restaurants & Le Cordon Bleu Institute. The hotel boasts 129 sea-view rooms, and 5 different restaurants & Bars: Signatures (International Cuisine), Byblos Garden (Lebanese Cuisine), The View (Drinks, Bites & Friendly food), Les Arcades (Lobby Bar) & La Piscine (Drinks & Light Snacks).
The new Lebanon campus (1st & 2nd floor of the Hotel), is fitted out with ultramodern equipment and the latest technology, providing students with the perfect environment in which to achieve excellence. The institute has 2 demonstration rooms, one of which has the capacity to seat 80 people and 3 practical classrooms for cuisine and pastry lessons. Overlooking the sea, the training centre also has an aromatic herb garden, a library, a student area and a private student car park.
Mr. Cointreau shared his vision of BURJ ON BAY Hotel's role in the hospitality sector in Lebanon. He Stated "France & Lebanon have many historical links and it is with great pleasure that I am able to support & encourage these links with this impressive hotel & School project. France has a worldwide reputation for hospitality & Culinary excellence and it is my hope that Le Cordon Bleu Lebanon, BURJ ON BAY Hotel & our partner USEK "Holy Spirit University of Kaslik" can influence the future Lebanese Hospitality industry.
Aside from the press conference and announcements, there was live entertainment present in different restaurants, and guests could sample the different cuisines offered, and finally they celebrated the opening at The View rooftop Restaurant & bar, with live music, Food Stations and cocktails, with a view overlooking Jounieh Bay to end the evening.
