A minor earthquake hit Lebanon late Wednesday night, residents and local media reported.
People living in areas across the country, including Beirut, south Lebanon, Bekaa and Mount Lebanon reported feeling a light tremor around 10:45 p.m., according to the state-run National News Agency. The earthquake was a 4.3 on the Richter scale and originated from Lake Tiberias in north Israel, the NNA quoted Rachid Jomaa from the National Centre for Geophysical Research as saying.
A resident of Tyre in the south of Lebanon told The Daily Star he felt the ground shake for around 15 seconds. "Everything moved: my desk, the lamps, couches," he said. "It wasn't strong, but we could definitely feel it."
