Grand Hills Hotel in Broumana hosts a barbecue night every Friday by the sun pool with the vocal talents of Jessy Nassif. Beiruting were invited to enjoy this special ambiance, and we were free to fill up our plates and taste the delicious items of the buffet. The salad bar contains a variety of fresh and grilled veggies, including quinoa and cold Lebanese appetizers such as tabboule, moutabbal and hommos with a selection of pickled items and a bread basket. Original side dishes prepared by the hotel's chef to pair with the main courses included roasted mini potatoes, halloumi cheese with eggplant, spicy sauce and rosemary, a colorful dish of squash, eggplants, carrots and peppers presented in a concentric manner surrounded by corn on the cob, and steamed apple with asparagus to name a few. Live grilling was nonstop for the entire evening, as taouk, steak, jumbo shrimp and frankfurters were prepared in front of us, we were able to choose the cooking status of each of the items we wanted to try. The dessert table contained meticulously crafted mini mango tarts with coconut along with a cinnamon apple crumble cake, a cheesecake and chocolate, strawberry and tiramisu choices, in addition to staple Arabic sweets, honey and fresh fruit. We enjoyed the prompt drink service by attentive waiters, while Jessy belted out tunes from the likes of Sinatra and Engelbert, as well as contemporary Oriental songs. Expect the good vibes to last past midnight, for who wishes a romantic breezy mountain evening to end? Make sure to reserve by calling Grand Hills Hotel on +9614868910.
