LEBANON AT THE FOREFRONT: NAJJAR RAQWA Q2 WINS TWO WORLD COFFEE INNOVATION AWARDS

    05 october 2026

Café Najjar announces that NAJJAR RAQWA Q2 has received three international recognitions at the World Coffee Innovation Awards 2026, winning two categories and taking second place in a third:

    WINNER — Coffee Machine

    WINNER — Brewing Innovation

    SECOND PLACE — Technology Innovation

Presented by FoodBev Media, the World Coffee Innovation Awards recognize innovation across the international coffee industry. The 2026 winners represented 12 countries and were announced at Café Business Expo at ExCeL London.

For Café Najjar, the recognition marks an important milestone for an innovation conceived and developed in Lebanon, built around one ambition: to take a coffee ritual passed down through generations into the future without losing what makes it authentic.

A Lebanese Innovation Born from Coffee Culture

Preparing authentic Lebanese and Turkish-style coffee has traditionally depended on precision and know-how — from coffee dosage and water ratio to temperature, brewing and the creation of its characteristic foam.

Drawing on decades of coffee expertise, Café Najjar combined this knowledge with engineering and technology to develop NAJJAR RAQWA, a patented brewing platform purpose-built for authentic kettle-brewed coffee.

The system digitally manages the critical parameters of preparation to consistently recreate the coffee experience in approximately 45 seconds.

With NAJJAR RAQWA Q2, the platform evolved further through personalization and Coffee Code, allowing consumers to create, save and reproduce their preferred cup.

But the innovation was never simply about making coffee faster. It was about preserving the spirit of a ritual deeply rooted in our culture while ensuring it continues to have a place in the lives of generations to come.

    A Dream Born in Lebanon

At the launch of NAJJAR RAQWA Q2, Karl Najjar, CEO of Café Najjar, spoke about a larger ambition: the belief that a Lebanese company could contribute, even in a small way, to writing a new page in Lebanon’s story.

The vision went beyond introducing a new coffee machine. It was about protecting a cup passed down through generations, giving it a future, and believing that an innovation born in Lebanon could travel beyond its borders.

Today, its recognition at the World Coffee Innovation Awards gives that vision new meaning.

A small page written in Lebanon’s history is now being read on the international stage.

Our Coffee Culture. Our Lebanese Determination.

For Alain Dibo, General Manager of Café Najjar, the recognition reflects not only the innovation behind NAJJAR RAQWA, but also the determination behind its creation.

“NAJJAR RAQWA carries our coffee culture, but it also carries something else that is deeply Lebanese: our determination to keep moving forward.”

NAJJAR RAQWA was conceived and developed in Lebanon through years of work, perseverance and belief in an idea — the belief that something created here could grow beyond Lebanon and earn its place on the world stage.

Alain Dibo said: “We are proud today to see a Lebanese innovation recognized globally. Not only because of what it means for NAJJAR RAQWA, but because of what it says about Lebanon and its people. Even through difficult times, we continue to create. We continue to believe. And we continue to move forward.”

Pride Today. Hope for the Generations to Come.

The recognition also carries a meaning beyond what has been achieved today.

NAJJAR RAQWA was born from a ritual inherited from previous generations, but it was created to ensure that this cup continues to have a place in the lives of new ones.

Its international recognition is a reminder that culture does not only have to be inherited and preserved. It can also be a foundation for innovation and for creating what comes next.

It carries a message to young Lebanese: that ideas can still begin here, that innovation can still come from here, and that Lebanese talent can create, compete and earn recognition internationally.

“We want this recognition to carry a message of hope to the generations coming after us,” said Alain Dibo. “To keep dreaming, to keep creating and to keep believing. To know that an idea can start here, in Lebanon, and reach the world.”

    THIS ONE IS FOR LEBANON

The two awards and second-place recognition carry the name NAJJAR RAQWA Q2, but the achievement belongs first to the team that believed in the idea and worked over the years to bring it to life.

Today, Café Najjar proudly dedicates this recognition to Lebanon — to its talent, creativity and determination to keep moving forward.

NAJJAR RAQWA was born from our culture.
    Driven by our determination.
    Recognized by the world.

    This one is for Lebanon.
