Over 1.5mm Ramadan meals and Coca-Cola beverages are being distributed throughout the aforementioned countries as part of the 2013 campaign, which follows in the footsteps of last Ramadan's 2012 similar initiative by Coca-Cola offering 1mm meals.
As part of this Ramadan initiative, various cities and villages within the above mentioned countries are identified by the Food Bank and marked to receive meals and Coca-Cola beverages, to be delivered by the iconic Coca-Cola trucks by the company's Bottling partners in each city, Moez El Shohdi CEO of Regional Food Bank, stated: "We would like to thank Coca-Cola Middle East for taking their partnership to a higher level and dedicating their time, people, and trucks. Thanks to this support we are able to safely transfer food boxes to remote areas, and with their donation we were able to provide meals and refreshing beverages for underprivileged families during the month of Ramadan."
Antoine Tayyar, Director of Public Affairs and Communications for Coca-Cola Middle East, said: "Coca-Cola has a long-standing relationship with the Food Bank aimed at supporting underprivileged areas in the Middle East. We are proud to work with our Bottling partners and along with the refreshing beverages that are donated for this initiative, our system also is proud to donate its time and effort to spread the Ramadan spirit throughout the Middle East".
Food Bank had selected areas that are in dire need for support and will continue to deploy efforts to best cover these areas across the region. The collaborative effort of the Jordanian Food bank and Coca-Cola team contributes to raising awareness about the need for such partnerships in extending support to communities in need.
