In the presence of His Excellency the Swiss Ambassador to Lebanon,Mr. François Barras, the president and founder of CLES Mrs. Carmen Chahine DEBBANE in collaboration with " TAKADOM EL MARA -women's progress association inaugurated the sixth center of CLES in the association's building in Kfarjoz-Nabatieh on the 2nd of April 2015.
Active women members in the community, journalists and representatives of CLES attended the event.
The ceremony began with the Lebanese national anthem then the Swiss national anthem, and was presented by Juliana Traboulsi Eid, the General Director of CLES. Mrs Salma Ali Ahmad Ibrahim, president of Takadom el Mara' association and the founder Mrs Carmen Chahine DEBBANE, welcomed the Swiss Ambassador to Lebanon , Mr. François Barras, and all the attendees.
Mrs Salma Ali Ahmad Ibrahim described Nabatieh as the town of education since it is known as the town of the scientist Kamel Al Sabbah.
The association was founded in 1970 under difficult and complicated political, social and security circumstances.
Acting as a cell of bees that does not calm and interested in cultural, humanitarian and educational activities, the association determined to achieve big developpement projects.
Today, with the support and the collaboration of Mrs Carmen Chahine DEBBANE president of CLES, and her team, the 6th branch of the Lebanese Center for Special Education is opening.
Mrs Salma Ali Ahmad Ibrahim thanked the psychotherapist Mrs Balkis Sadek for her role in this cooperation.
Mrs Carmen Chahine DEBBANE in her speech also talked about this cooperation, about the importance of the work accomplished by CLES team along with "Takadom Al Mara" , the team of doctors and specialists and her husband, Mr Raymond Debbane, who contributes in supporting the project and thanked the Swiss Ambassador Mr Barras for his continuous support.
During the ceremony, an honoring shield was presented to his Excellency and in turn he spoke about the permanent support granted by the Swiss Embassy for educational projects, especially "CLES" projects.
The event included the projection of a documentary introducing CLES services and the presentation of the play ""Shou Bene Mama?"" written by Myrna Dahdah, directed by Carlos Chahine and performed by the talented actors Mostafa HIjazi, Hady Deaibes, Marwa Chehade and Serena Al Chami. The play consists of four scenes that illustrate the children suffering from problems such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, dysphasia and ADHD.
CLES is a Lebanese Center for Special Education provides individualized professional assistance to children between the ages of 3- 12 years old, facing learning difficulties at school.
CLES signed with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education a ten year cooperation Protocol to fund 200 learning support classes in 200 public schools throughout the Lebanese territories.
