Mrs Dunne has been battling pneumonia for the last two months, but the royals have helped her get through it.
Prince Harry's Australian super fan Daphne Dunne has died aged 99 - just a few days after receiving a birthday card from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Ms Dunne had been in hospital with pneumonia for two months before dying a few days after her birthday, 7News said.
The duke and duchess are understood to be very sad to hear the news of her death and their thoughts are with her family and friends.
The duke first spotted her in 2015 when he noticed her wearing a Victoria Cross which had been earned by her first husband Albert Chowne in World War II.
Mr Chowne had been awarded the cross after he died in Papua New Guinea in 1945 during an attack on a Japanese machine gun post.
Prince Harry and Mrs Dunne have met at least three times, each time proudly wearing her husband's war medals.
In 2017, the duke made Mrs Dunne's day after he gave her a peck on the cheek.
