    In Video: Gigantic Moving Gundam Robot Unveiled In Japan

    A life-size - which is to say, absolutely f***ing massive - Gundam robot that has been built in Japan is ready to be unveiled to the world for the first time.

    OK, so it's not actually going to be properly unveiled for the first time, because it's been quite difficult to hide an absolutely gigantic model of a robot from the public. But you get the idea.

    The 60 foot tall machine is designed to look like the robot RX-78-2, the original and best Gundam made famous by the anime Mobile Suit Gundam.

    That 'mobile' is worth remembering, because it turns out that this thing can actually move. If you didn't know it was a model, you'd believe the entirety of Japan was actually being attacked by a humungous robot.

    For those who aren't aware, a Gundam is a large robot that is controlled by humans in the popular Japanese science fiction series of films and television programmes that started in 1979.

    So, it moves quite slowly, but it's actually a fairly remarkable feat that the folks over at The Gundam Factory in Yokohama have managed to get such a creation moving at all
