Sky watchers witnessed an incredible astronomical event on Tuesday night, as the last full moon of the year shone on our planet, with some amazing photos taken from coast to coast across the United States.
And the “cold moon” reached its peak illumination at 10:30 a.m. (3:30 a.m. GMT). The moon remained in the sky for a full 15 hours until the early hours of Wednesday morning, making it the longest full-fledged lunar event of the year.
