Ferrari is preparing to launch its first all-electric model in 2025, according to CEO John Elkann.
During the company's Annual General Meeting overnight, the Ferrari boss told shareholders "We are continuing to execute our electrification strategy in a highly disciplined way," British publication Auto Express reports.
"We are also very excited about our first all-electric Ferrari that we plan to unveil in 2025, and you can be sure this will be everything you dream the engineers and designers at Maranello can imagine for such a landmark in our history," Mr Elkann said.
A report in January 2021 had suggested the Prancing Horse would offer two battery-powered SUVs in 2024 and 2026, following a hybridised variant of the Ferrari Purosangue SUV – likely using a detuned powertrain from the SF90 Stradale. Delays caused by the coronavirus pandemic and semiconductor chip shortage may have pushed those plans out by a year.
