While the purported low-cost iPhone (also referred to as the iPhone 5C) has made a number of online appearances, alleged pictures of the next generation iPad's rear shell surfaced last week.

Conflicting reports have come out as of late speculating on the actual date of the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C launches. While the common consensus is for this fall, a trend Apple has perpetuated for years, the question is when. The most recent report, courtesy of Cult of Mac, suggested that a launch for both smartphones would be around the 6th of September.

The casing and backing on the iPhone 5S is likely going to be similar to the iPhone 5, as Apple doesn't make many physical changes to the "S" series of the iPhone. Much of the changes come in software and services, with the biggest one so far being Siri, which was released as part of the iPhone 4S.

As for specs, little is known for either the iPhone 5S or budget-friendly iPhone 5C. The tech junkies and Apple loyalists expect the 5S to sport a 4-inch IGZO display with resolution of 1136 x 640 and 326 ppi, 2GB of RAM, and a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera. The A6 CPU chip could be the same as the one used on the current iPhone, although graphics could be upgraded and there have been rumors spinning of a next-generation A7 chip to conserve battery while supporting the increase in computing functions via the 2GB of memory.
