The Lebanese paragliding community is mourning the loss of one of its most prominent pioneers. *Omar Singer* was who was acro-paragliding, that is an extreme sport: Solo Sport way different than the 2passengers paragliding activity, that requires different équipements.
He was also the founder of *Beirut Paragliding*, tragically lost his life after a fall from approximately 300 meters above the sea of Jounieh.
The Incident
According to reports, Civil Defense received an emergency call early in the afternoon regarding a paraglider who had fallen into the sea while practicing the sport. Rescue teams immediately rushed to the scene, deploying specialized units from both land and sea. After an extensive search operation, they located Omar and transported him to a nearby hospital. Sadly, it was there that his death was confirmed.
A Pioneer of Paragliding in Lebanon
Omar Singer was not just a paragliding enthusiast; he was a **trailblazer** who introduced and popularized the sport in Lebanon. Through *Beirut Paragliding*, he made the skies of Beirut and Jounieh accessible to thrill-seekers and adventurers, offering both locals and tourists a chance to experience the breathtaking beauty of Lebanon from above.
